Arnold Schwarzenegger has never
given up on the world of professional bodybuilding and continues to be
the ultimate icon for physical fitness. Although Schwarzenegger officially
retired from bodybuilding in 1980 after his "Comeback" victory,
Arnold has continued to work his body like a beautifully sculpted work
of art. Over two decades after Schwarzenegger's champion bodybuilding
competing days, The Oak , now at age 60, continues to work out daily.
The ARNOLD FANS receives emails daily requesting the knowledge
of The Oak's current workout status. "Does Arnold still work out? How
often? What are Arnold's favorite sports?
Understanding our reader's need for these most frequently asked questions,
we at The ARNOLD FANS can only oblige and offer you this section
devoted to Arnold's current workouts to remain fit. We call this section
of our body building site THE PRESENT PUMP!
"...I train at least a half hour with weights everyday and I train
at least a half hour of cardiovascular training every day. Sometimes,
depending on the time of availability, I train more. If I go to the "World
Gym" in Los Angeles and I see all my buddies there like Franco and
all the old-timers, I'll train for like two hours or more because we're
having such a good time. I think THAT is the most important thing
- to train with weights every single day and every day with the cardiovascular
training. It's kept me always in shape so I could do the stunts in the
movies that are required so I don't get injures and that I remain very
active all day. Sometimes the shoots are very, very tough like 14-16 hours
of running around in the jungle of Mexico for this "Collateral Damage".
But with this training, with pumping up everyday, with getting in touch
with the weights, you feel good about yourself. You feel secure physically
and even though I'm 53 years old, I feel like I can do all the things
that I could do when I was 30."

WARMING UP: The Cardiovascular Pump!
When The Oak is ready for his daily workout he starts off by getting the
blood flowing. After his stretches, Schwarzenegger can chose from many of
his favorite sport activities to achieve his cardiovascular goal of perfect
health. Of course his favorite cardio activity is when he and his lovely
wife get to share a romantic and private workout. Four Schwarzenshrivers
are the proof. However, when Arnold needs to leave the bedroom he must find
other ways to achieve the cardiovascular pump.

Bicycling
Schwarzenegger likes to accomplish many tasks each day so why not COMBINE
them. As you can see Arnold makes time with his family being the perfect
dad while simultaneously exercising the cardiovascular system. A bike ride
is very healthy and it does wonders for his dark tan.
Swimming
A few laps around the pool is an excellent workout. Arnold also likes
to use his children as weights, curl them and then heave them into
the air for fun. Get out your speedos, last one in the pool is a low
forehead!
Skiing
One of Arnold's favorite sports is skiing on the slopes of Aspen.
Occasionally, he'll hook up with his longtime Aspen friend Conan
Angelo and will ski the mountains high enough to touch Crom himself.
All of the Schwarzenshrivers are avid skiers. The thin air and sport
activity gets the heart rate up. Excellent!

Excercise Machines
When Arnold is working on the set of his movies he always brings
with him his own private and portable workout trailer. Equipped
with free-weights and a plethora or exercise machines, the Terminator
gets to work out in-between takes. Rest is for the week.
Stunts
You may not think of filming an action movie as "working out" but
when you consider all the stunts Arnold does you realize he is
constantly pumping up. Just imagine take after take of filming a
fight sequence or running up stairs over and over. Arnold did not
receive the first Honorary Taurus Award from the World
Stunt Academy for nothing!
ARNOLD GETS SERIOUS: The modern PUMP!
Now that Arnold has warmed up with his cardiovascular
workout, it's time to bust a move and get serious! The Austrian Oak
has the same drive and determination as he always had. Of course in the
old days Schwarzenegger used to workout with very heavy free weights all
day until he passed out. Now it's not about adding the most muscles humanly
possible but rather to stay toned and remain in his good physical shape
for his "international stud" appeal.
These days Arnold works out with lighter weights but does more
reps. And what better way to help him pump up than to pump up the volume
of his favorite hard rock music. To key to working out every day is to
set goals and most important - to have fun!
Finally we have a few motivating words from the man himself to make sure
YOU students make time to workout daily.
"Now I can tell you the Pope works out for an hour and a half every
day before he gets to work. The busiest people in the world find time
to work out. You have to understand that the day has 24 hours. Let¹s assume
that you go to school and study - that's 10 hours. You work for 4 hours-
that's 14 hours. Let¹s assume you sleep for 8 hours-that's 22 hours. So
what happened to the other 2 hours?"
- Arnold Schwarzenegger

Schwarzenegger pumped up hard once more for his role as The Terminator
in 2003's "T3: Rise of the Machines"! TheArnoldFans talked to Arnold about
his new look.
TheArnoldFans: Arnold, your physique is FANTASTIC in T3...
Arnold:"Thank you" (followed by big Austrian grin).
TheArnoldFans: ...Can you tell me if you are currently in that
SAME SHAPE or do you like to let go a little bit after a film and then
train hard again in preparation for your next movie?
Arnold: (Nods) "I always do that, but I train normally with
a half-an-hour of weights every day and also a half an hour of cardiovascular
training a day. Then, when a special project comes up...you never know
what the movie is. There are certain movies I need to lose weight where
people don't need to look at the muscles first, but rather the character.
So you try to lose weight to blend in a little bit better. In other movies
you gain weight. For the Terminator, it was extremely important for me
because there is a comparison being made. You know, it's the same Terminator.
So I need to look the same as 10-12 years ago or 20 years ago. So that's
number 1. Number 2, people are going to look at it and they are going
to say, 'let's see if he's still got it.' So I want to be sure I satisfy
both. There was more training. 2-3 hours of training a day and dieting.
There were many times when I was on the set. At 2 or 3 in the morning
and if I had an hour off, I would go to the gym work out and then go back
to work again. So any moment that was available for me to hit the weights
- I was there."

This is Arnold's current pump! This image showing
his ripped, tan muscles was featured in the 2007 magazine Fast Company.
The tattoos are fake but the muscles are REAL!
At age 60 Schwarzenegger curls a dumbbell that was found in the
remains of a home that was burned down in the Angora wildfire near South
Lake Tahoe, California June 27, 2007.
At age 61 Arnold still has the physique to take on the beach! This was taken in July of 2008!
