Arnold means Promotion. No other Hollywood superstar promotes his upcoming films like Arnold Schwarzenegger! Premieres, parties, publicity stunts & hundreds of interviews, the entertainment community knows that "The Oak" does everything in his power to make a movie a success!

As you will see, "Batman & Robin" was no different.

On Display
The associated press was in high anticipation, when actors Arnold Schwarzenegger & George Clooney unveiled their "Batman & Robin" costumes to the public! Donated to one of the Planet Hollywood chain restaurants, fans from across the world lined up to see these new costumes on display for the very first time!

With replica's distributed to hundreds of other Planet Hollywood locations all across the globe, this Mr. Freeze costume displayed in Beverly Hills (like the others) created a crowd of onlookers itself! Fans couldn't wait to experience & witness the chilling presence of Mr. Freeze! It was obvious to the world, that the people were once again captured in a Batman frenzy of excitement!

The Premiere
Warner Bros pulled out all the stops when they put together this galla event! It was the star-studded premiere for Batman & Robin, in true Hollywood style! Held on the east cost and the west (as seen here), Arnold was greated by thousands of screaming fans extremely excited to get a glimpse of "The Oak"!

Schwarzenegger admitted when director Joel Schumacher first offered him the role, he thought the idea of playing the cold criminal was ludicrous... accepting the role could only be a bad career decision. Although some fans still agree that Arnold should have refused the role, it didn't take the "muscled one" long to realize that protraying the icy villain not only would be an enjoyable experience, but very profitable one as well! (Schwarzenegger estimatedly received approximately $50 Million dollars in salary and toy cross promotion profits combined, for his work in "Batman & Robin".)

The Wings of the Bat
This is no ordinary aircraft! What you are witnessing is Arnold's 15 million dollar Gulfstream Private-jet with a Gotham make-over! Schwarzenegger, who always concentrates on new ways of advertising his films, had an inspiration to actually transform his jet into the biggest promotion vehicle in the world! After spending $250,000 to morph the plane into a giant flying Batsign, Warner Bros stated they were very pleased with the end result... so pleased that they reimbursed "The Oak" the entire quarter million dollars.

The End Result
With a production budget of 110 million dollars, contrary to popular belief, "Batman & Robin" was an incredibly profitable film. In the United States alone, during the first weekend of its release (available in 2900 theaters from coast to coast) the fourth installment of the caped crusader franchise raked in a whopping 43 million dollars in 3 days! That summer, Mr. Freeze & company was responsible for grossing more than $260 Million world wide!
