Thanks
to the gracious staff at Warner Bros., The ARNOLD FANS was
fortunate enough to join a handful of journalists on a visit to
the Warner Bros. Studio LotStage 15 and briefly
speak with the director of Arnold Schwarzenegger's upcoming
blockbuster "Collateral Damage!" That's right, we are talking
about Andrew Davis!
Most notable for directing the Academy Award winning "The Fugitive"
starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones, this
extremely talented filmmaker has been responsible for suspenseful
classics like "A Perfect Murder" and "The Package",
and exhilarating action films like "Under Siege" and "Code
of Silence!"
Meeting Andrew Davis for the first time, it was easy to take notice
how enthusiastic he is about his work, especially when it comes
to his current film project with Arnold Schwarzenegger. He expressed
what a pleasure it is to work with Schwarzenegger, and seemed
very excited about the dramatic performances his actors have brought
to his film.
It was also interesting to note that Davis and Schwarzenegger
wanted to work together back in 1986 on a little futuristic thriller
known as The Running Man (which was ultimately directed
by Paul Michael Glaser.)
The most essential piece of information The ARNOLD FANS
found necessary to seek was a definitive answer about the Collateral
Damage's rating, a final answer to clear up all the
misconceptions. I asked the director personally if the film's
rating had been determined, and this is what he had to say:
"No, it has not officially been determined.
However, we are thinking PG-13 with a hard edge to it."
Although we would prefer an "R" rated feature, which is consistent
with the majority of Arnold Schwarzenegger's top grossing blockbusters,
we look forward to the Andrew Davis visualization of a "hard
edge."
