We were the few and the proud. On Saturday, September 7th, TheArnoldFans.com was invited to
the second and final online press set visit to T3: Rise of the Machines. Once again,
no photography was permitted so I can't share set pictures but get a load of this
exclusive “T3” publicity still given exclusively to TAFs by WB!

The morning’s shoot, filmed at the L.A. Center Studio, was met by our mini band of
online reporters that lead to a much more intimate session with the top-cast talent
including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jonathan Mostow and the TX - played by Kristanna Loken.
Our tour guide walked us through the backstage lots. Along our journey, we were pointed out
Arnold’s movie trailer and speaking of the God himself, The Oak just pulled up in a new
customized black Stogiemobile with his son Christopher. Walking forward a few extra feet,
John Travolta drove by on his way to his own stage and gave us a friendly smile and wave.
Our first destination was Stage 5: Crystal Peak, the biggest movie set I had ever
strolled. We were informed this giant set, containing many old-fashioned computers,
was an abandoned secret government headquarters building from the late 50s (although
later Mostow claimed that period wasn’t entirely accurate to keep an ounce of mystery).
A huge symbol on the wall reads “U.S. Department of Defense”. Although we were not
enlightened to the significance behind this defense location, we were told it would play
a major setting towards the film’s end.
The set designer, Jeff Mann, did an incredible job creating the the atmosphere to
resemble early 50s architecture. It’s how earlier scientists envisioned the future
just as Disneyland created their Tomorrowland. Little did they know, the future
is today and they are far off the mark. An enormous chandelier, the size of a small
truck, was dropped to the ground. Stylized clocks were in one room reading out all
the times of different regions of the world and a control tower overlooked a
huge mosaic mural of the envisioned future - with depictions of space and rocket ships.
On our way out, I was treated to the best Schwarzenegger interview in a very long time.
We were invited inside Arnold’s personal movie trailer.
You’ll be back for part 2: TAFs’ Arnold Schwarzenegger T3 interview!
