In this scene we learn how the T-1000 finds out that it was the Terminator posing as John on the phone. The T-1000 had no idea why John hung up the phone after he told him his dog Wolfy was fine. We then learn why John hung up on the T-1000. "What's wrong with Wolfy?? The Terminator and John find out John's foster parents are dead. Lets take a look outside. After hanging up the phone you see how the T-1000 killed John's foster father and how he walks outside. Lets check the dog. The T-1000 walks through the garden towards the place where the dog stays. Aaaaahhhh, there's wolfy!! The dog is still barking and looks at the T-1000. Nice Doggy!! T-1000 opens the gate and walks towards the dog.
