Summer Glau Says Comic Cons are Fan-tastic!

Summer Glau, the panties-wearing Terminator from "The Sarah Connor Chronicles", not only loves her fans but considers Arnold an icon. I've come into contact with Summer again this week to see how she's been holding up on these press junket tours and comic convention appearances. We're heading into comic/sci-fi convention season so where will this Terminatorette be next?

TheArnoldFans.com: Hi Summer, I've seen you at a couple of different comic and sci-fi conventions promoting Terminator. Which comic conventions will you attend this year and how do you deal with your thousands of convention fans: The Browncoats and the Chromeheads?

Summer Glau: Well so far I'm scheduled to attend Wonder Con in San Francisco(Feb 24th), Wizard World in Los Angeles (March 15th), and another convention in the UK. I love being face-to-face with the fans. It gives me the opportunity to thank them for everything they do to support the show.

TheArnoldFans.com: In a related question, as far as you know, will "Chronicles" get a magazine developed on the show like the Smallville, Buffy and Angel magazines?"

Summer Glau: It would be so much fun to have a magazine on the show. I haven't heard anything so let's wait and see.

Titan Magazines, the leader in television and movie specialty magazines gave TheArnoldFans no comment on possible Terminator involvement. Their hit TV magazines include Lost, CSI, 24, Heroes, Smallville, Buffy, Star Trek and Star Wars. Let's hope for that Terminator mag soon! Perhaps we should all email Titan Magazines and demand a Terminator magazine; not just on the series, but on all things in the Terminator universe including: T4, Termination, the comics, the fans, Arnold, T1-T3, T2:3D, the collectibles and more! While on the phone with Summer, we also heard her take on Arnold Schwarzenegger's body vs her own.

Summer Glau: People still ask me about Arnold Schwarzenegger and how does that feel to be the new terminator. I almost didn’t go in on the audition because I just – I had such an idea in my mind of what a terminator should be, and I did not fit that mold in any way. You know, I’m short and I just didn’t think that I had that terminator look. But I think that it is interesting because Arnold Schwarzenegger is such an icon. He’s such an action hero that Josh Friedman decided to take the Terminator on a completely different path. We’re not trying to recreate Arnold Schwarzenegger. We’re doing a completely different Terminator, and that makes me feel safe because I don’t have to try to follow in his footsteps.

WonderCon is coming up fast! When TheArnoldFans asked FOX if there will be Terminator promos given out, I was given the response: "Yes, there will be some giveaway items. All surprises!" So come and get them and see Summer at WonderCon with us on Sunday, Feb 24th.
