Arnold Schwarzenegger has officially begun filming The Kellys in Budapest, and fans now have their first behind-the-scenes update directly from the action legend himself.
In an exclusive video update, Schwarzenegger shared his first thoughts from the set of the upcoming action-suspense thriller, which co-stars Liam Hemsworth.
“I started filming in Budapest this week. The movie is called The Kellys, and it’s very, very fun.”
Schwarzenegger also revealed that he and Hemsworth have already settled into a familiar routine while working in Hungary, including training together at the same gym between filming sessions.
While describing the project as “very, very fun,” Arnold admitted that his first day on set came with one challenge familiar to many film crews: overnight shooting.
“My first day wasn’t so fun. It was a night shoot. That means you come to work at 6 in the evening and go home at 6 in the morning.”
Despite the demanding schedule, Schwarzenegger emphasized the importance of maintaining a consistent daily routine, explaining that it helps him stay focused, energized, and productive even when filming disrupts normal sleep patterns.
For those unfamiliar with the film, The Kellys follows Jack Kelly, a disgraced New York City police officer whose wife, Molly, is taken hostage by terrorists inside an old armory building. Forced into an impossible situation, Kelly must join forces with the people he fears most — his own family — in a desperate mission to save her.
The film is directed by Brad Peyton and written by Tze Chun, with production currently underway in Budapest. Amazon MGM Studios recently acquired worldwide distribution rights to the project.
