TAFs Attends Comic Con: Major Arnold Scoops!

Expect loads of Arnold news stories, exclusives and toy product reviews over the next week here at TheArnoldFans.com. Randy Jennings of TAFs just returned from the San Diego International Comic-Con, the biggest comic book convention on Earth to meet Arnold fans across the globe, movie stars and to hear what's new in Arnold movies of past and future.

First up is a report on Conan's movie status and McFarlane action figures! Conan Properties held a panel discussion on Friday afternoon with five panelists including the president of McFarlane Toys and the man who dropped the bomb on all of us about the next Conan motion picture. The next Conan film was officially announced for the fist time to have a theatrical release date of 2007 with an R rating. No other details were given.

Next, the president from McFarlane Toys began his presentation and told us they would be making new action figures based on the new movie. Afterwards, all of our hands shot up in the air to ask the question about when they would ever do figures based on Arnold's films. Their response was a very discouraging one: "We don't want to make figures based on a movie done 20 years ago but rather move forward with a new line." That was the statement given to send me and many other fans out the door with our backs to the Conan panel. Conan fans were NOT HAPPY.

Comic-Con is no longer just for comics. It's for fans of horror, anime, sci-fi/fantasy, video games, books, toys, memorabilia, posters, DVDs - and major Hollywood event movies. Come on out to the Comic Con next year and meet us there!
