Online reports that director Michael Bay says he hopes to resurrect "I Am Legend" with Will Smith. The film long had Ridley Scott attached to helm with Arnold Schwarzenegger starring. "It's a combo of Alien and Cast Away," says Bay. "In Legend, a scientist thinks he has created a cancer vaccine--but, in fact, it mutates into a virus that wipes out Earth's human population. Smith would play the last man on the planet, who has to cope with--and maybe save--a dying world. But Warner Bros. may retain the rights through a deal with Schwarzenegger, who could still star.
