"CRADLES" ARE FOR BABIES! Passing on "Cradle to the Grave" ! Reported By: Randy Jennings Thursday, January 10, 2002 Although Warner Bros Is desperately trying to lure Schwarzenegger into a new action film for them, it appears The Oak is sticking to his promise of playing hardball in order to get "I am Legend" made. Arnold officially denied any involvement with WB's "Cradle to the Grave" leaving his part to Jet Li. Arnold's attitude: Why make a mediocre action film like Cradle to the Grave when you can have a winner like King Conan or I am Legend. Ah, Arnold is always the smart business man! Rapper-actor DMX and Jet Li will topline Warner Bros.' "Cradle to the Grave," which Andrzej Bartkowiak will direct for producer Joel Silver. The project will go into production late next month for release in the fall. The Hollywood Reporter: DMX has signed with WMA's Charles King and Dave Wirtschafter for theatrical representation, including acting and producing. "Cradle" reunites the actors, helmer and producer, who worked together on the studio's "Romeo Must Die." Li also starred in Silver's "Lethal Weapon 4," while DMX also starred in Silver's "Exit Wounds," the latter of which Bartkowiak directed. (The helmer began his relationship with Silver as the cinematographer on "Lethal 4"). Thanks to Darren for the Scoop! ---------- |
