Last year Arnold won the HONORARY STUNT AWARD for all the daring stunts he had performed in his films but did you know by doing his stunts and watching other stuntmen he applied this knowledge to save his own life.

IMDB.com reported that Arnold Schwarzenegger's action films saved him from nasty injuries after the bike crash earlier this week.

According to Arnold's brother-in-law, Bobby Shriver, Arnold's many stunt doubles helped him when it came to avoiding serious injury last weekend. Bobby explained Arnie's bike crash just minutes after it happened - as his sister, the movie star's wife Maria, rushed to the scene. He says, "I'm sure part of the reason he did as well as he did is he observed so many stuntmen crash motorcycles. He would have had in his mind, `Oh my God, here I am where's the stuntman?' Boom, down he went. He knew how to take a fall."

The January 25th issue of The National Enquirer tabloid brings us some of our first images of the day of Arnold's wipe-out. On Sunday, December 9, Arnold Schwarzenegger went for a Sunday morning bike ride with two other riding buddies. Minutes after he left his home the accident occurred. Schwarzenegger swerved to avoid a car, skidded 50 feet and hit a curb!

"He's an experienced motorcyclist, who always wears his helmet, but lost control and crashed his bike," reveled a pal. Dazed and in some pain, Arnold got to his feet with the supervision of paramedics who arrived and helped The Terminator with first aid treatment. Arnold reached for his cell phone and called Maria. "Honey, I wiped out. Come pick me up."

Minutes later, a shaken Shriver arrived on the scene, bundled Arnold into her SUV and rushed him to the hospital. "Tough guy Arnold tried to laugh off the whole thing but Maria would have none of it. She drove like a mad woman to the emergency room at Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica."

About 8 a.m. Arnold was rushed to the hospital by Maria, who was followed by two bodyguards. After many medical tests - including complete cardiac workup - the doctors determined Arnie's heart was still good but fractered a couple of ribs. Throughout the next couple of days Arnold remained in the hospital for observation and loving wife Maria stayed by his side the whole time.
