FANS "DAMAGE" THE BOX OFFICE WITH 8 STEPS! Arnold's "Collateral Damage" opens TODAY! Reported By: Randy Jennings Friday, February 8, 2002 At last, over one year later from Arnold's last film release and four months later from the movie's original release date, Collateral Damage is finally here! Let me tell you Arnold fans, if you have not already read my no-spoiler film review do so now because this action-thriller is definitely worth the wait! No doubt Collateral Damage will do at the very least $20 mil this opening weekend but let's make sure it becomes that $100 million PLUS hit this picture is worthy of raking in. Just to make sure Collateral Damage exceeds the 100 million goal, it is up to all of you fans like myself to follow these guidelines: Making "Collateral Damage" a $100 million PLUS film: - 1. See "Collateral Damage" on opening weekend. Okay, that's an easy one. - 2. Bring as MANY people as you can. If at all possible, don't JUST take your significant other to see it but invite your friends and family. Pick the one day between Friday, Saturday and Sunday when you can round up the MOST friends and watch it that day. - 3. Do NOT see a daytime matinee. Make SURE you see a FULL-PRICED evening showing of "Collateral Damage"! Wouldn't you agree your money is going to a good cause and it would make you feel good knowing you're contributing to giving Arnold a number one hit? - 4. Can't find anyone COOL to hang out with to see this movie? Take your parents. Just ask them. I know they saw the commercials and I bet they would like to see it. Build your family bond and make Arnold bring you closer together. Can't find ANYONE? Go alone. - 5. DO NOT see any other movies for at LEAST three weeks in the theater following the film's release in your area unless it's "Collateral Damage" over and over again! Otherwise, if your friends ask you to come along for "Rollerball" tell them NO! If your significant other demands you to take her to see "Crossroads" for Valentines day, tell her on the one condition that you can PAY to see "Collateral Damage" but then sneak over and see her movie. At least the money still goes to the right cause. - 6. Cheer LOUD in the theater at the right moments of the film. With more cheering it will actually influence (brainwash) others around you who are typically Arnold bashers. These low foreheads will remember all the cheering and will tell other people about the enthusiasm. - 7. Make SURE you see "Collateral Damage" on the second weekend too. This is a MUST! This is the most crucial weekend as most movies this year have suffered a 30-40% drop off in numbers the second week. This shouldn't be the case with "Collateral Damage" right? - 8. Promote this movie around you - at school, at work, at home. Generate maximum interest. After you see the movie, if you like it (or in my case love it), spread the word over every message board over the net. If you are a freak and do not like it, keep it to yourself. Don't tell a soul that you are not happy with it as you may persuade someone NOT to go. That's a sin too. Now get moving. We are all going to be busy Arnold fans over the next few weeks. Get out your wallets, give Arnold a few bucks and enjoy Arnold Schwarzenegger kick butt in "Collateral Damage"! It's OUR time Arnold fans.
