The big news to start off our week is that of the casting replacement for John Connor. Apparently, due to Furlong's risky lifestyle of heavy narcotics, "T3" producers do not want to chance Furlong's involvement.

Our first report comes from MovieHeadlines.net:
The 24-year-old actor, who won fame as young John Connor in the mega-hit "T2," was reportedly all set to reprise his role in the Arnold Schwarzenegger feature that's supposed to go into production in the spring. Then came an Internet report that Edward Norton would be taking over the role. That's not true. What is true is that casting for Furlong's replacement begins next week. Sadly, the fact is, many have wondered how Furlong's ongoing personal problems would affect his future in "T3." The troubled actor did a stint at the Promises rehab center last year, but it didn't take. In May, he showed up at Cedars Sinai Medical Center's emergency room, reportedly for a possible overdose after a night of partying. In September, he was busted for driving under the influence after getting involved in a traffic accident on the Sunset Strip.
Obviously, someone would have had to question whether this is a person fit to carry a $170 million production alongside Schwarzenegger.

Next we have some cast details from our friends at Darkhorizons.com:
Warners has just sent out a casting breakdown for major roles in the upcoming "Terminator" sequel which doesn't list either Arnie's character or a rumoured 'male' terminator, the rest are described below and the notice sent to me does confirm rumors that Edward Furlong is now out of the picture:

John Connor: The character is now in his early 20's, a haunted and reluctant hero not trusting that everything has been set right.

Kate: Same age as John, a medical professional of some kind that's warm, physical and smart - one who can hold her own with the guys.

T-X-: Female in her 20's, the new Terminator whose sexy, composed and deadly. Actress requires demonstrable athletic skill. No details as to the character itself or its capabilities

Brewster: A scientific-background military man in his 40's/50's - a thoughtful, strong leader who has earned the respect of those around him.

Scott: Mid-20s/Early-30s young man with good looks, charm and attempting to make a stable future for him and his fiancee
