Two very supportive Arnold fans recently wrote in to express views that we at The ARNOLD FAN feel MUST be shared with the world. Kate, a woman from England, speaks her beautiful mind on U.S. terrorism and Arnold's patriotism. Mark pushes for Arnold to claim the Oscar nomination he is capably of. If you're listening Arnold...

Kate from England:

Hi Randy,
I haven't spoke to you for a while, but thought I'd just write to say how great the site still is. I have been reading a few bad reports about CD on the Web, about it's timing because of September 11th. Can I just say that I think this is very short sighted, as we in England have endured countless films regarding World War II.

Arnold's film was and I repeat was filmed long before September 11th and I don't think comparisons can be made. What happened was horrific, and I hope America brings Bin Laden to justice, but in England we live with that fear everyday from the IRA, I know lots of people who never go shopping to London because of the threat of car bombs by the IRA especially at Xmas.

I feel the people who are making such a big fuss over this is simply because they are anti Arnold. There is no-one more American than Arnold even though he is Austrian, he has done so much for your Country, fundraising, Inner City Games, Special Olympics, why is there people out to knock him all the time. Is it pure jealousy because the one person who really is the American dream is not originally American but Austrian. I hope you are all alright and would like you to know that everyone I know in England is behind America and its fight against terrorism.

God Bless America.
Kate

Having seen Arnie give his best performance to date (or one of them), I feel like expressing my thoughts to Arnie himself. Dear Arnold, I saw Collateral Damage the other day with a crowded theater whom seemed to LOVE every minute of the film. The theater was made up of all kinds of fans from males to females of all races... you name it. People clapped when the credits rolled and I have not seen such a thing since True Lies in 1994. You and Andrew Davis have done WELL!!!

Having seen Collateral Damage, I truly believe you have grown as an actor. Your performance was true and subtle. You now, more than ever, have proven that you are eligible to one day get nominated for an Academy Award. I strongly believe Collateral Damage has brought you to the next level. I can now see you playing the German soldier of Osterman in the Oscar type screenplay of "With Wings As Eagles". You would once again play the strong but silent type in this war film. It would also be very unique from all the other WWII films that are out and coming out because you would play a German soldier who over time fights for American lives rather than an American who is always the hero in films.

This is why I think "With Wings As Eagles" WILL net you the Oscar nomination you joked about on interviews for Collateral Damage. With hard work (which you are use to), a great director and the right release date, you could and will get the Oscar nomination for this film. I know that for a fact having watched you perform in Collateral Damage. You would also be given the opportunity to do all your great stunts and fighting as a German "bad ass" soldier in WWAE. The script has plenty of Arnold type stuff to bring in the crowds. Don't let this AMAZING script slip pass you and go to a Russell Crowe because you were to nervous to tackle such a heavy script and part. I know all the controversy that might come after the film but believe me when I tell you that you would have gained greater respect as an actor for doing such a heavy character piece with GREAT meaning.

"With Wings As Eagles" is about a hero who is doing right by man and risking his life to save thousands of others. That is the spirit of a true hero and champion and it sounds like you in every way. I heard you say you might retire from films after a few more years. Well, I never want that to happen but if you do decide to leave films, doing this film would leave the world talking about your great acting!

I wish you the best in life!!! Keep up the great work in films, in life and with your family!

Mark

Thank you Mark and Kate. I couldn't agree with you both more.
