So far this year and all of last summer, just about every movie to do well on opening weekend has suffered the Hollywood curse of having ticket sales drop between 50% - 60% on the second weekend for a big movie. The other half of the curse has been that although these movies premiere at #1 on opening weekend you would find, on the second weekend, the movie would have dropped down to 5th or 6th place.

The good news is "Collateral Damage" seems to be the one big surprise film that has broken the Hollywood curse as it's second box office weekend had only dropped roughly 35%! Not bad at all considering there were four big new releases this week.

Schwarzenegger's "Collateral Damage", now in it's second week, even had more muscle than the Bruce Willis Hart's War which had just opened this weekend.

1. John Q, $20.6 million
2. Crossroads, $14.6 million
3. Return to Neverland, $11.8 million
4. Collateral Damage, $9 million
5. Big Fat Liar, $8.7 million
6. A Beautiful Mind, $8.5 million
7. Hart's War, $8.2 million
8. Super Troopers, $6.2 million
8. Black Hawk Down, $6.2 million
10. Snow Dogs, $5.8 million
