Nick Stahl, the new future military leader against the machines, recently talked about the audition process for the role of an older John Connor in "T3: Rise of the Machines".

Stahl says he was one of many, many to audition for the film. According to him, producers of the film initially would not even allow candidates for his part do their readings from the script; they were asked to deliver monologues instead.

"It was a long audition process," says Nick, who is currently in physical training for the role. He says that the film will keep him busy for six months.

In other news we hear that a replacement has occurred in the casting department. According to The Hollywood Reporter, "National Lampoon's Van Wilder" star Sophia Bush has nabbed one of the two female lead roles in "T3: Rise of the Machines".

It seems the 19-year-old Bush, crowned the 2000 Tournament of Roses queen, will star opposite Nick Stahl ("In the Bedroom") as Kate Miller, a young, athletic professional in the medical field.

Bush once was set to make her feature acting debut in the MGM teen pop-star project "I Want Kandee" (HR 10/24/00). After that project fell apart, she went on to act in the dramatic feature "College" and the HBO miniseries "Point of Origin," both of which can be seen later this year.
