TWO NEW "T3" SET REPORTS FROM DOWNEY! T3 set: Big cranes and big explosions! Reported By: Ulf Kristensson Tuesday, August 20, 2002 We have two reports from the "T3" set in Downey for you today. LatinoReview.com scored some cool destruction shots and our usual spy, Lauri, sends us a NASA map! Lauri: TheArnoldFans, we (Rick and I) just did a drive-by of the T3 set (at about 9:30 pm) they have the big camera crane booms set like they are really gonna rock and roll now. One of the cranes was set up in the area where they took down the security fence (to allow for traffic to be driving by when they shoot to look more realistic I guess) and another was set up at the very end of their set street. I wanted to see what the end of the street looked like, so I drove in - thought I'd act as if I'd turned down the wrong street - very innocent like. You could only drive down a little ways before you get to the gate - with all kinds of signs - private property etc......Immediatly headlights from a security car came on. I'm trying to turn around in the tight area. Finally got turned around and headed out toward the street, made a left turn onto the street - and the security guard actually jumped up on the fence and shined his light on me. Thought that was kind of a security guard overkill thing to do. I was already out on the street driving away. Anyhow - I'm on vacation this week, so I'm gonna try and get down there early in the morning. Am considering asking the company that is directly across the street from then place where the fence is down if I could have permission to park in their parking lot. If they allowed me to, I could see it all. Here is a map of the NASA property they have built the T3 site on. Most everything that I can see is done in parcel 5. Right about halfway down parcel 5 is where the security gate has been taken down for filming. Latino Review.com: Here are a few more pics from Downey. They set up two cranes, and attached some wires between them. Then, they suspended a camera from the wire, which took some over head shots of all the ongoing stuff below. That footage should be kick ass. They also blew up a flat bed truck and a fire engine. Man, I tell you, they are dropping a heavy dime on this movie. I've never seen the spending that is going on here. I couldn't get you picks of the 'splosions, but there are a couple of what's left of the flat bed truck and the fire engine!
Thanks to Lauri and Ronnie!
