LOS ANGELES (AP) - Arnold Schwarzenegger is adding a patriotic ring to his campaign to increase funding for after-school programs. The Austrian-born "Terminator" planned to attend a multicultural festival in the immigrant-heavy community of Westminister on Sunday to showcase his upcoming ballot initiative and discuss the importance of diversity.

"America is the freest country in the world, with unlimited possibilities and boundless opportunity. And California is America's Golden Gateway, welcoming all who enter to dream of a better life," Schwarzenegger said Friday.

He said that's why he is supporting a ballot initiative that would set aside more than $400 million for extracurricular activities and tutoring assistance for California students.

"A better life for our children begins with an education and educating our children shouldn't stop at 3 p.m. when the school bell rings," the star of "Kindergarten Cop" said.
