ARNOLD DONATES BIG STOGIE COLLECTION! Antelope Valley COC gets Arnold's help! Reported By: Randy Jennings Tuesday, June 25, 2002 On Saturday, June 21st, Lancaster Valley held a big charity event at the Antelope Valley Chambers of Commerce. Naturally when you hear the word charity you think of the man with the kindest heart in Hollywood who has been involved with more charity organizations than a mutant's breast count. This year they had a wonderful Schwarzenegger humidor of cigars auctioned off. But these weren't just any cigars. The giant smokes and wooden humidor were donated to the chamber by Arnold Schwarzenegger at the request of Steve Malicott, chamber president. While attending the California Chamber of Commerce legislative conference in Sacramento recently, Malicott met Schwarzenegger following the star's after-school program promotion. He knew Schwarzenegger often donated boxes of cigars to nonprofit organizations, but Malicott was surprised. "I was expecting just a regular box of cigars like you'd buy," Malicott said. "This is gorgeous!" The fragrant cedar humidor is signed by Schwarzenegger on the inside of the lid and on the outside, and is stamped as the 21st box of 25 produced. It is filled with 18 Daniel Marshall cigars. If that doesn't sound exciting, a price list enclosed shows Daniel Marshall cigars cost between $119 and $212 a box, Malicott said. Hmmm, with that cigar value would anyone dare smoke them? ---------- |
