STILL HOPE FOR THE BARBARIAN KING! WB still in talks for King Conan! Reported By: Randy Jennings Wednesday, November 27, 2002 Conan fan Michael Basso writes TheArnoldFans with the response he received from Conan's licensing group, Paradox Entertainment, about the rumors of ripping the soul from Milius' brilliant vision. Dear Arnold Fans, I wrote the CEO of Paradox Entertainment Theodore Bergquist, because I was wanted to express my opinion that you can not have a good Conan movie without Milius or Schwarzenegger. I wrote him because why would anyone want to give up talent like Arnold, Milius and the Wachowski brothers, I just did not understand the logic. I just do not want to give up hope to see King Conan starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by John Milius. I think the fans should be heard! Response from Paradox Entertainment: Mr Basso, There is a lot of rumors out there today. Every day people approch Conan properties and want to do a different Conan. You can not change Conan... Conan is Conan... he´s a tough barbarian and that´s it. I'm sure that you will not be disappointed when you see Conan on the screen next time. As far as I am concerned, I have seen no official statement from Conan Properties on that Conan should be this or that, with or without Arnold, Milius, Warner... whatever. This is just rumors. ![]() In related news, Aint-it-cool-news had their own source give them the good news that WB is still in talks. AICN Reports: Dear Moriarty, One of your readers sent me the link to your article. As managers of the Conan property, we are keeping our ears to the ground and we do listen to the fans. I must tell you it´s fascinating to be a bystander and see these rumours fester. Let me put an end to some. We always and regularly receive pitches about how and when Conan should be made. Some people tell us Conan should be kinder. Some say less expensive. A lot think quicker. There are always advises left and right. This is because Conan is at the top of many people´s minds and Conan is a great franchise. I can definitely tell you the next Conan movie will NOT be cheaper. It will have the best production value, the best studio and the best director. There are no exceptions. As far as we are concerned, Warner´s is not out and we are in discussions with them about the project. I will say that we believe the wait for new entertainment has been long and we need to see some action on the screen. And, as a comment, Conan is the real Barbarian. Scorpion King was not. We will shortly have our new website up to get closer to the fan community. Meanwhile, thanks for your continued interest in Conan!" Much more breaking news to come on King Conan soon. Let us all pray to Crom that Milius' King Conan reigns in theaters soon! ![]() Conan artwork sent in by Boudewijn Simons ---------- |
