DOES A TERMINATRIX HAVE PARENTS? Kristanna Loken's mom reveals all! Reported By: TheARNOLDFANS.com Staff Tuesday, January 7, 2003 TheArnoldFans.com teamed up with Kristanna.com to interview Rande Loken, mother of "T3" star Kristanna Loken! Rande couldn't be more proud of her model/actress daughter who stars as the Terminatrix in this Summer's blockbuster - T3: Rise of the Machines! TAFs spoke with the Kristanna Loken on the set of Terminator 3 in 2002 but now it's our turn to get to know Kristanna from someone with more power than the TX: her mother! TAFs: What was Kristanna like as a child? What were her early ambitions and personality like? Rande Loken:: Kristanna was a delightful child. We nicknamed her "Sunny". She remains the same to this day: Joel Micheals, one of the producers of T3, told me: “Kristanna is a ray of sunshine on the set, she lights up the whole place. Kristanna was always a hard-working, determined child. Cheerful, never gave up on anything, be it dancing, voice, ballet, school, etc. Her earliest ambition was to be an archeologist, then a marine biologist, then an actress. TAFs: How excited was Kristanna to learn she got such a big role in Terminator 3? Rande Loken: Very! But not overwhelmed. She went out and got the role, preparing herself physically, mentally and emotionally through weeks of auditions and then screen tests. “Papa”, she said, “They’re not taking this one away from me.” TAFs: How and when did you learn Kristanna got the role? Did she call you or were you with her at the screen test? Rande Loken: Kristanna called us here at home on the farm. Though Christ and I had been in California with her through most of the casting, we had returned to New York by the time she was notified. She was riding her horse when the director, Johnathan Mostow, called her. “What are you doing?” he asked her. “Riding my horse”, she answered, “it’s a lovely day”. “You want me to make it even lovlier”, Johnathan asked, “you got the part”. TAFs: Were you able to visit Kristanna on the set with Arnold? If so can you tell us what you saw being filmed that day (without giving away any secrets?) Rande Loken: Yes, we visited Kristanna on the set of T3. The day we visited she was working with Claire Danes and Nick Stahl. Arnold wasn’t there that day, so we didn’t meet him. TAFs: Now that Kristanna has landed such a big role, does she have other big films lined up? What's next for Kristanna? Rande Loken: Kristanna has been reading many scripts. At the moment she hasn't found one that really excites her. She's hoping her next role will be something totally different, as she loves new challenges and the opportunity to show her versatility in acting.
