On Saturday the 3rd, the LA rains stayed away long enough for Schwarzenegger to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Arnold's All-Stars, an after-school program for middle schools in California.

"You all get wet when it rains, but I rust," Arnold Schwarzenegger joked to a crowd of kids and parents at Exposition Park. "It's a little different of a ballgame (for me)."

Joined by L.A. Mayor Jim Hahn and City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo -- both champions of the project -- Schwarzenegger and his colleagues turned the park into a minicarnival, with games, cotton candy and free food from El Pollo Loco. But jokes and jumping houses aside, Schwarzenegger showed the crowd of several hundred that even the man of steel has a sensitive side.

"I, of course, am not one of those celebrities that puts his name on something -- I am a hands-on guy," he said. "You know how many times I come into your school and check up on you. And it makes me so proud every time I walk out of the school and see you kids participate and work so hard and make the right choices every day. This celebration here is a one-year anniversary of great accomplishments."
