CROM, TAFs TALKS TO CONAN's THORGRIM! We have Sven-Ole Thorsen, where's John? Reported By: Randy Jennings Saturday, October 11, 2003 I swore Subotai said Conan does not cry. Then why is Conan crying like a baby right now? After the news broke late last night that "Conan the Barbarian" director John Milius decided to move forward with "King Conan: Crown of Iron" WITHOUT Arnold (due to his film departure), I had to call Milius for myself. I put the call in and was told he'd call me back within minutes. I am still waiting and this wait feels long. It feels like an eternity as if I am strapped up on the Tree of Woe. Let's hope Milius runs over that sand dune to rescue us soon because the FANS must know more! Next, I gave Sven Ole Thorson, who played Thorgrim from CTB, a ring to hear what he thought. Although Sven's eager to play any part that Milius has to give him in King Conan: Crown of Iron, he feels John should wait until Arnold's 1st Governor term is up. "Well first of all. Let's see how long the Governor job will last. Whether it be one term or a long time. I think that after all that stuff there should be time for Arnold to do King Conan." A complete Sven Ole Thorson interview will be up early next week. Personally, I can't blame Milius with wanting to move forward. It's been years and years since Milius wrote his first King Conan script and at first Arnold did not exactly jump at the opportunity. Months before King Conan would be filmed, Arnold traded in a movie career for Governor so is Milius supposed to wait another 3 years to see if Arnold is ready... or will Arnold run another term leaving John ONCE AGAIN pushing the wheel of pain? I think Milius would have Arnold's blessing to move forward but I can not speak for Arnold. If Milius does in fact move forward, I only ask that he demands that Arnold contribute a great cameo in the film. I know the PERFECT role for Arnold. It's PERFECT I say. So call me know Milius and we will talk. You owe us this. Apparently theArnoldFans.com petition worked after all. Our 12,500 signatures were quite enough to create Hollywood buzz on the King Conan project and now Warner Bros listened to the fans. WB now wants you back! Call me know Milius, you old wolf. Give the fans confirmation now... or to hell with you! Columnists Marilyn Beck & Stacy Jenel Smith report: "This could be John's best script ever," says a source about the Conan the Barbarian follow-up. There's a challenging Conan role and it contains five significant female roles. Someone close to the project says there will be advantages about going with another actor. It'll be cheaper to make, no studio interference, it'll be possible to shoot in exotic locales for which Arnold wouldn't get insurance from the studio, and less CGI. ----------
