JOE GOLD MEMORIAL EXCLUSIVE! Arnold, Drasin and buddies attend! Reported By: TheARNOLDFANS.com Staff Tuesday, August 24, 2004 Our second favorite bodybuilder, Ric Drasin, is back again with another TheArnoldFans exclusive. As we reported earlier, bodybuilding icon Joe Gold passed away on July 11th. At last, dozens of the world's greatest bodybuilders and pumped-up promoters crammed in one room for a touching memorial. Randy, The World Gym memorial went well... about 350 people there all together. Legends upon legends attended. About 8 people gave speeches that were very nice. Arnold gave a great speech remembering Joe and how nice he was to Arnold when he first came here. Arnold stayed about 1/2 hour and shook hands saying hi to everyone and then took off. I guess being Gov he's a busy man but he showed up. That's the main thing. There were pictures all over - showing the beginning of Golds and those that were involved. Everyone had a good time and it definitely was fun. I forgot to ask Roland about the movie where he plays The Oak. I will when I see him.  Brad James is playing Arnold on VH1 this Aug 31st. Brad is a good friend of mine as well. Joe Gold was once a Pro Wrestler but not for long. 2nd photo Joe training with Tony (and old friend of mine) looking on and an even older friend next to him. I met with the VP's of Gold's the day before, see photo below and they want to bring back my original design as a Retro , Signature T Shirt next year for the 40th anniversary of Gold's.
