Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, helped one of his best friends, Oprah Winfrey, celebrate her 50th birthday for her in the Montecito section of Santa Barbara, Calif., on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2004.

The birthday bash attracted a star-studded crowd to the home owned by one of Oprah's friends. Marlene Veloz hosted the gala which attracted Gov., John Travolta, Kelly Preston (Twins), Stevie Wonder and Carol Burnett. A behind-the-scenes look at events from Winfrey's 50th birthday weekend will be telecast Friday, Feb. 6, 2004.



Maria Shriver is saying it would be too tough to juggle a journalism job with her duties as first lady of California. Shriver, a "Dateline" NBC reporter, said she will continue to work on specials connected to her children's books for other NBC properties. Shriver took an extended leave from NBC News when her husband ran for California governor.
