THE FANS WRITE OFFICIAL "T4" SCRIPT?
T4 pushing forward at Warner Bros!

I know of at least three hardcore Terminator fans who are attempting to write their very own "T4" scripts. These fans, like Maurice Huijs, Chad Campbell and others, feel there is no fate but what they make. They live on a prayer that their scripts will be picked up as the official scripts. But what drives them when we hear the screenplays are currently into production by WB-hired pens?

Executive Producer Mario Kassar recently spoke to The Movie Guide, a Lebanese film magazine, regarding production for Terminator 4, which is practically as good as confirmed at this stage.

"T4 is in the works. The screenplay will be ready in 8 or 9 months. Once we have that, we will proceed with the production. The question that has never been answered in all the Terminator films is time travel. You can come from the future to change the present. But we never see how they go back to the future, which is a subject that can be explored. I think you already know where T4 is going from the ending of T3".

ComingSoon.net tells us this quote was given about 7 months ago so does this mean the script is NOW just 1 or 2 months away from completion?

When we hear T4 is moving forward and the scripts are being produced now as we speak, what drives the fans at home to produce their own scripts? As unlikely as it may be that WB would turn to a fan for the official script, I say "go for it" guys! WB needs to understand that if they want a Terminator film to be LOVED by the Terminator fans, the script needs to be written by them. Guys like Chad and Maurice know the Terminator universe inside and out. The majority of Terminator fans LIKED T3 but at the same time were irritated at what could have been. If we could have just had our saw we could have turned that 8 movie into a 10.

I talked to Chad Campbell over the phone on Friday and I know he has some fantastic ideas for T4 that he would like to develop. I also recently read Maurice's script. It's damn good and after I gave a few additional comments and suggestions of new and unique settings of snow and water battles, it has the making for a great T4. However, his HOPE OF THE FUTURE script is a bit Arnold-heavy so he may want to try a second draft with just an Arnold cameo.

Chad's T4 script is a mystery to me but he was winning me over with just his word that he would make Arnold return to a bad-ass evil Terminator again.

What's my point? WB needs to understand that you can't be a Terminator writer overnight. You can't hire just anyone who has seen the movies a couple of times and then say they are Terminator experts. They need the hardcore fans to write or even co-write the stories. If they screw up T4, imagine how hard it's going to hit the fans and the box office.

If the T4 script is truly currently in production, I just ask that they bring in hardcore Terminator consultants like Chad, Maurice and myself. Have the three of us sit down and read the top secret finished script. Have us sign confidentiality forms were we swear not to let any info leak or we are fined millions. Let THE FANS help write the script...because it is the fans who will be seeing the movie over and over.

In another recent interview, Kassar was quoted as saying that T4 will go ahead "with or without" Arnie, after the worry that he may be too busy governing California to make any more Terminator films.

"FMrwong" tells us that he also heard from a friend from c2 named Derek that T4 is now fully supported by WB... to push forward with the project.
