CA's NEW COIN & ARNO GOES "GLOBAL"! ![]() Schwarzenegger, who spent two months reviewing the designs and personally added the condor to the coin as an example of an "amazing comeback," reserved special words for Muir, a Scottish immigrant who first saw Yosemite Valley in 1869 and became known as the father of the conservation movement, a prolific nature writer and founder of the Sierra Club. "Muir has been a role model to generations of Californians and to conservationists around the world," Schwarzenegger said. Schwarzenegger's wife, Maria Shriver, dubbed the coin the "people's quarter." California's design, like that of other states, replaces until 2008 the traditional eagle that has long graced the side of the quarter. The "heads" side of the coin will continue to bear the likeness of George Washington, the nation's first president. In other news, Arnold fans Adrian C. Pavel and Paul Jackson have created an Arnold fansite for the non-English speaking fans! Hi ArnoldFans, Adrian (KROM from TAFs Forum) and I teamed up and initially ran Arnold.RO, the 2 language cocktail of English and Romanian. However, we didn't want our website to be limited to just these two languages - what about fans from around the globe who couldn't speak these? They were missing out on all of the good stuff on Arno. There's no website (that I'm aware of) that provides the latest news on the Oak in French, Spanish, German, Italian and more. That brought about the idea of a multi language portal for Schwarzenegger fans across the globe - GlobalArnold.com. In 9 languages (and growing), we have even more detail and content than before. This is a website for ALL Arnold fans - unlimited detail in all sections. We've put a hell of a lot of hard work and effort into this over the past few months, and now we finally feel that it's ready for the community of Arnold fans to take on. Keep checking back each day for updates - the Global Community has arrived. Adrian. GlobalArnold has been online for some time now but we were waiting for Adrian to put up some footage of his televised Arno Parties. They are up! Check them out by clicking HERE! |
