Last year TheArnoldFans.com featured the exclusive inside tour of The Arnold Schwarzenegger museum in Austria.
Arnold fan Mino shared great stories and photos with us and it was a great day. Today is another story. The
Arnold Schwarzenegger museum, featuring some of the training equipment once used by the body
builder-turned-actor-turned-California governor, is closing today.
The museum, which also displays photos and paintings, is tucked into a corner of a fitness center in the Arnold
Schwarzenegger Stadium in Graz, a southern Austrian city near Schwarzenegger's home village.
The fitness centre and the museum will close on Wednesday because of financial problems, an administrator said.
A letter sent to Schwarzenegger asking for financial help had gone unanswered, she added.
Susanne Hoeller, an official at Graz tourism office, confirmed the museum, inaugurated when Schwarzenegger
turned 50 in 1997, was about to close. Though the privately run museum never attracted large crowds, it was a
"pity" for the city that its only Schwarzenegger sight was about to vanish, she added.
For now, the future of the collection is unclear. It will be stored and might one day be put on display again -
perhaps in TheArnoldFans.com Schwarzenegger museum?
