Arnold Schwarzenegger attended the 62nd Annual Golden Globe Awards on Sunday, Jan. 16, 2005, in Beverly Hills, Calif. He arrived with wife Maria Shriver and they were both dressed for success.

In other news, Arnold fan Gord sends us a good laugh. He says he has heard 2005 is predicted to be the end of The Oak.

I heard this woman on a radio show and she said some things about Arnold. It¹s kinda scary because she has been right about a lot of her predictions last year and is an advisor to Tom Cruise and other stars.

Finally, Arnold proclaimed January 17, 2005 a special day!

Each January, Americans celebrate the legacy of renowned civil rights pioneer, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., whose courageous leadership helped define the character of freedom in America.

Dr. King devoted his life to fighting segregation and racial injustice using the principles of nonviolence and stressing the fundamental values of liberty. He inspired millions of Americans to embrace the ideal of equality for all people, igniting the Civil Rights movement and creating a society inclusive of all races, cultures and nationalities.

California enjoys a population rich in diversity, embracing a variety of ethnic and racial groups as part of our history and our future. Many of our equal opportunity public policies find their roots in Dr. King's influence. His ideas compelled state leaders to expand opportunities in such areas as employment, housing and public accommodations.

Dr. King said, "Everybody can be great, because everybody can serve." As we honor and celebrate his extraordinary life, we remain committed to promoting equality and freedom through service to our communities.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER, Governor of the State of California, do hereby proclaim Monday, January 17, 2005, as "Martin Luther King, Jr. Day." IN WITNESS WHEREOF  I have here unto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of California to be affixed this the twelfth day of January 2005.

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Governor of California
