Arnold fan “Anonymous Actress” had many roles in “See Arnold Run” and she shares many behind-the-scenes secrets
exclusively with TheArnoldFans.com!:
Anonymous Actress:
Most of the movie was filmed in spots around San Diego and LA. There were tons of extras
practically every day (at least 50 but sometimes numbering up to 200). The biggest days were the JOIN ARNOLD
pep-rallies and the Body Building Championships (we filled an auditorium).
It was funny in the scene we did when Arnold is walking down the public street on his way to Town Hall. Crowds
of extras were supposed to flock around him...we ended up getting just ordinary pedestrians in the mix too. They
were like "who is that? what's going on?" and then running along with us screaming "ARNOLD! ARNOLD!" fun.
Well, let's see I had the part of:
- Newspaper Reporter
- Pink Lady Protester
- 1970s Art Gallery Visitor
- Arnold Fan
- Join Arnold Campaign Rally attendee
- Arnold Grandstand Guest
- Body Building Fan
- Egg Throwing By-Stander
No, I didn't get to throw the egg. Actually, they had to hire a specially trained stuntman to throw the egg...(what
silliness). Even then it took about 5 times to hit 'Arnold' with the darn thing.
The other actors I was in scenes with were:
Mariel Hemingway (Maria Shriver)
Roland Kickinger (Buff Arnold Schwarzenegger)
Jürgen Prochnow (Older Arnold Schwarzenegger)
When you see the movie & Arnold walks outside of The Tonight Show with/Jay Leno, that's not a studio...it's an
abandoned airport hanger. it was hell for the poor sound guys. airplanes every 5 minutes.
the Body Building day was cool, because we got to sit down all day. but eventually people were getting stir crazy.
Roland (buff younger Arnold) was really nice. but very hungry, it seemed like he was eating chicken every 15 minutes.
I guess you gotta feed those muscles. Boy, is he huge! But then again, I'm only 5' 2" so my vision might be skewed. :)
Then the 1970s art gallery (where buff Arnold is posing all oiled up on a spinning disc) was interesting. 1st off,
everyone had to be in 70s attire. & of course, they gave the tallest clogs ever. I nearly broke my ankles 3 times, so
they grabbed a guy and put him with me. "Here, just cling on him, so you don't fall down."
it ends up that I enter the gallery, see buff Arnold and am so enthralled, that I must MUST sit down on the floor and
just gaze at the twirling hunk. It sounds romantic perhaps but poor Roland got so dizzy, he almost fell on me numerous
times. Luckily, the grips are always ready.
Hmmm, what else? Oh! there was supposed to be a nude scene..I don't exactly know what went on in it but they decided not
to film it, so the film could actually air on TV.
I wasn't there during the entire shoot of the film but the scenes I did see that might be considered controversial
were:
Maria getting 'attacked' by angry protesters at a voter registration. She comes to do a photo op. and is met with mean
fans who yell at her "No New Governor" and things like that. so she jumps in her car & drives off.
Arnold advisors are trying to get to their offices and are met by a mob of angry women, who have picket signs and are
shouting "No Groper for Governor". we did that one quite a few times.
I'm glad you liked the stories. good luck with your site :)
As for my name, let's just call me "Anonymous Actress".
