Arnold Can Return with Epic Glory!
Never Forget the Great Scripts!

Hello friends, ABking here again! If fans had to guess Arnie's two most EPIC dramatic films he must make when he reaches 60 plus years old, what do you think they would be? I hear some of you saying I AM LEGEND, PREDATOR 3 and INGLORIOUS BASTARDS.
While all of us would love for Arnie to still play Neville and give one hell of a performance in I AM LEGEND, it might not be in the cards. Arnie owned the rights to this film many years ago but sold it off so the WB could get it made (with no luck it seems)!
Many of us would love for the Austrian oak to play Dutch again and kick the shit out of and out-smart another Predator with John McTiernan at the helm in PREDATOR 3, but Fox wants something else. Maybe in the future, Arnie and McT can bring Dutch back for one last battle.
All action fans at one point or another always wanted to see a film starring the names SCHWARZENEGGER & STALLONE. While there were numerous projects these two looked at during the 80's and early 90's, nothing ever came to be.
Q. Tarantino came up with an idea to finally team these two (along with Bruce Willis) in a war film and at one point it seem like Arnie would be filming INGLORIOUS BASTARDS during his first term as governor. But that idea seems less unlikely at this time. Maybe QT will muster up a 200 million dollar budgeted war film to fill the bill for the two iconic giants.
Those three above mentioned films aren't what I was referring to. Instead, they are CRUSADE & WITH WINGS AS EAGLES.
I now believe that Arnold should direct CRUSADE himself much like fellow action star/filmmakers Mel Gibson with BRAVEHEART and PASSION OF THE CHRIST, Clint Eastwood with UNFORGIVEN and the upcoming WWII film FLAGS OF OUR FATHERS or Stallone with ROCKY BALBOA or his upcoming biography on POE.
Arnold bought the rights to CRUSADE over a decade ago through Oak Productions and always compares it to Eastwood's UNFORGIVEN as his holy grail project! Arnie can still play the knight Hagan much older like Clint did with his aging gun slinger.
Numerous websites somehow got their hands on the original shooting draft for CRUSADE years ago and gave script reviews. Most agreed that Arnie would finally be able to get his first Academy Award nomination. I think Arnie has had this script for so many years now, he should know the part of Hagan like the back of his hand. Arnold could direct his first major movie into Oscar gold!
The script for Crusade is praised as one of the "greatest un-made scripts" in Hollywood. If Arnold ever gets the film off the ground (which should be easy with foreign backers and mega producers Mario Kassar & Andrew Vajna) he would have made an epic film that rivals GLADIATOR. That Ridley Scott masterpiece is hailed as the greatest in it's genre with Mel Gibson's BRAVEHEART a close second.
Regarding WWII movies, Arnie has ALWAYS wanted to make a WWII action film. He had SGT.ROCK with the WB back in the 80's and 90's but it never got made. Arnie's pal John McTiernan was going to direct at one point but they choose LAST ACTION HERO to make instead, which is a great Schwarzenegger parody by the way.
Many years later, Arnie got attached to the action/drama WWII project WITH WINGS AS EAGLES. The screenplay is said to be amazing and I can confirm that statement having read it myself. Paramount Pictures wanted to work with Arnie so much at one point they bought the script for him specifically.
My sources confirmed to me that Paramount Pictures doesn't own WWAE anymore so maybe Arnie can purchase the rights through Oak Productions. Braveheart & Pearl Harbor writer Randall Wallace still wants Arnie to play Osterman one day. "Arnold can play the part well into his 60's" he says.
John Milius isn't doing KING CONAN anymore (unless the WB comes to their senses) but Arnie can get John to direct WITH WINGS AS EAGLES. In my opinion, I think this war film would DEFINETLY make the world take notice and give Arnie the respect he deserves as an "actor". Notice I said actor, not movie star. That's how powerful a role Osterman is. I do not want Russell Crowe getting this role and winning another Oscar. Arnie finally deserves it!
Arnie, if you are listening, PLEASE make Crusade and With Wings As Eagles one day!!!
