A Message to WB: Arnold IS King Conan!

Seems like a new Conan movie is gearing up very soon and hopefully it's the right CONAN movie. WB head of movie production, Jeff Robinov, says he wants Conan out in 2007. What he should have announce was that he wants to finally bring KING CONAN:CROWN OF IRON starring Arnold Schwarzenegger to the big screen.

Now that THE LORD OF THE RINGS films are gone (until THE HOBBIT comes to the screen) the month of December has a void in a fantasy event size epic film. That could change if the WB wants a monster size hit with Arnold's version.

The Conan box set is always selling out in numerous retail stores like Best Buy, Circuit City and Target. Why? Because fans and consumers remember one thing from those films...Schwarzenegger! His name is the main selling point plain and simple. Like the Terminator character, Arnie is integral to the barbarian role.

A couple of years back, TheArnoldFans.com got a petition together and it was soooooo successful that it got back to Arnold and the WB (ran by other studio bosses at that time in 2003). Numerous websites including Aint-It-Cool.com pushed for KING CONAN to get made. It would of course star Schwarzenegger and would be directed by original CONAN THE BARBARIAN director John Milius! If it weren't for Arnie's dream of becoming governor, KING CONAN would have been made after the huge 433 million worldwide blockbuster T3 was.

Arnold went and lived his dream as California governor, but no Conan film got off the ground during those years! WHY??? Maybe the gods were kind and knew that the right CONAN movie would be a few years away! Maybe it's a sign that a new Conan film should only get a greenlight with Schwarzenegger and Milius. Conan creator Robert E. Howard did have numerous "older Conan" adventures including "Conan The King" and continued with "Conan Beneath His Sandled Feet. So if and when Arnie makes KING CONAN: CROWN OF IRON and it becomes a MEGA BLOCKBUSTER SMASH, the WB could continue with Arnie as the older warrior in KING CONAN: BENEATH HIS SANDLED FEET.

New Line Cinema (a company owned by the WB) made BILLIONS off of the fantasy event epic THE LORD OF THE RINGS movies. KING CONAN: CROWN OF IRON & BENEATH HIS SANDLED FEET could continue the cash flow for the studio. Warner Bros. could even cut cost and give Arnold a HUGE piece of the back end instead of his 20 million up front fee. At this stage in Arnie's career, it's no longer about the paycheck since the ICONIC mega star is said to be worth between 200-800 million.

To end this editorial, there is no actor out there that can fill Arnold's "iconic presence" as Conan. No actor Warner Bros. could possibly get would draw as much to the box-office! Even Ralf Moeller (Arnie's bodybuilder friend turned actor) looks like a Arnie wannabe playing Conan in his ill fated 1998 Conan tv show. The WB should wisen-up real fast before a new Conan film gets greenlit and then tanks at the box-office!

Arnold would be worth every penny since people WILL pay to see him play Conan again. Arnold IS The Terminator and Arnold IS Conan!!!
