The Weekly Pump: The Latest in Arnold News!

“Who is your daddy and what does he do?” Well, for those of you daddies out there, we hope you were enjoying The Last Stand with your families on Father’s Day. Arnold’s sheriff adventure was #1 on blu-ray for the first two weeks of its release and we’re sure it did huge again for the third week since there was no better father’s day gift.

Did you see any other movies this weekend? "The Man if Steel" and "This is the End" are both in theaters now but the Seth Rogan / James Franco comedy is by far the better film. And it’s not just because they have a funny Terminator Judgment Day conversation. While leaving the theater, be sure to stop and pose with the Escape Plan movie poster and email it to us or put it on our Facebook page.

The biggest news over the last several days was the exclusive news that we got from Arnold himself about him starring in Expendables 3 (shooting in August) and starring as a Terminator (shooting in January). Since our report, many fans have expressed their concern with Arnold’s age to play the Terminator character that we knew from T1 and T2. While I’d personally like to see Arnold play a bad terminator with CG help to de-age him to look as he did in T2, our friends at TheTerminatorFans.com wrote that they’d like to keep Arnold as a 66-year old Terminator. Although Arnold looks like a bad-ass sheriff, DEA agent and Expendable, I’m not sure a 66-year old Terminator would look as threatening as he once did. This is why I suggest the CG help. But if you agree that Arnold should look as he does now in Terminator leather, than read their article HERE!

I do hope Arnold also makes his way into Terminator 5 playing a human character in addition to a Terminator. Who knows, maybe we’ll see Arnold in four different models as a T1 Terminator, T2 one, a T-850 and an older age model. One thing is for sure, it will have us guessing for many, many more months before we really know what to expect. There is no fate and there are no script details but the guesses we make.

Finally, TheArnoldFans will be at Arnie's Life, Schwarzenegger's childhood home turned into a museum on July 30th. There will be a big fan celebration with new merchandise and Arnold-related activities to celebrate our hero's birthday so be sure to come by and say hello to us. Monthly Collector's Spotlight: Fernie Lopez!

Starting now, we're kicking off a monthly special feature where we'll showcase the biggest collections by the ballsiest Arnold collectors! Some of you collect only the movies and others collect just the Arnold books and magazines. However, our new Collector's Spotlight will be for those of us who have the ULTIMATE collections of merchandise, props and other super-rare treasures. Our first featured collector is our good friend Fernie Lopez!

We first met Fernie only a couple of years ago at The Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio. Over the last two years, we got to be good friends and TheArnoldFans even flew out to see him recently in his state of Texas. Check out the many pictures we took as well as a few extras that he sent us (including the photo that he took at Arnold Schwarzenegger's HOUSE)! Exclusive: Schwarzenegger Confirms "Expendables 3"!

What are the odds of lightning striking twice to the same website? Sure we get a great news exclusive from time-to-time but just yesterday Arnold gave us the huge exclusive comments all about Terminator 5. If that wasn't cool enough, Schwarzenegger, a day later, tells TheArnoldFans that he WILL in fact star in the Expendables 3!

Our reporter in Australia, Dan Delts, has been doing a great job following Arnold at the 21st Century Financial Education Summit and tonight he was able to talk with the world's ballsiest role model. We caught up with Schwarzenegger for a minute while he was signing a large mural in the Derrimut Gym. Not only did Arnold confirm to TheArnoldFans that he will be in Expendables 3, he added that he's going to start filming in August in Los Angeles!

How great is this movie going to be starring Arnold, Sly, Statham, Cage, Jovovich, Chan, Rourke, Li, Snipes, Lundgren, Crews and Gibson (rumored as the villain)! It NOW sounds like it's the greatest cast of all time!

Now we now why "Escape Plan" was moved back a month from a September release to an October release. This way Arnold can have a few weeks to concentrate on filming The Expendables 3 before a lengthy international tour to promote Escape Plan.

Although we have to wait until August 2014 to see Arnold and Sly together in Expendables 3, we only have to wait until October of this year to see the top two action heroes together in Escape Plan! Maybe I lied when I said lightning struck twice here considering Summit Entertainment might let us share another huge exclusive soon. Will lightning strike THREE times here?

We're also hoping Arnold and Sly will BE BACK to San Diego Comic Con again this year to pump up the promotion of Escape Plan! Arnold Talks Terminator, Triplets, Conan & Predator with TAFs!

TheArnoldFans is still in Australia following our numero uno role model and today we've got big news coming out of the 21st Century Financial Education Summit seminar! Yesterday we made big internet waves when we reported that Arnold said he'd start filming Terminator 5 in early 2014 but guess what, we spoke to Arnold AGAIN! This time Schwarzenegger not only tells us he will star as the Terminator (not as a human as earlier rumored) and that T5 will start in January, he also responds to our question of which character is more dear to his heart: Conan or the Terminator!

Schwarzenegger: "Well, I don't think there is one character (I can chose from) even with all my other movies... like for instance, I'm getting the script in two weeks from now about the sequel to Twins, which will be called Triplets. So for me, that character was a fantastic character. So I can't say the Terminator character is more than this character or the Conan character I like less than the Terminator character or something like that. They are all great characters. Like I said, I was very fortunate to be able to play those kinds of characters who have an international appeal. To me, that's the most important thing."

Arnold went on to discuss Terminator 5 details with TAFs.

"In fact, I'm very happy that the studios want me to be in Terminator 5 and to star AS the Terminator, which we start shooting in January and I'm also going to do King Conan - to play that role and also to do another Twins movie. So I feel very proud of that. I feel very happy and I'm looking forward to doing those films."

Schwarzenegger Says Terminator 5 Starts Filming Early 2014!

TheArnoldFans is in Australia for the next few days covering Arnold Schwarzenegger's big visit and his participation in the 21st Century Financial Education Summit. Schwarzenegger is speaking at various locations and seminars but it hasn't been all talk about business entrepreneurs and sports leaders because Arnold did talk a little about his next big film. "Terminator 5 starts filming early 2014," said the T-800 star himself and even said production would begin in January or February. Schwarzenegger also told us he would receive a final script for Terminator 5 and Triplets (a sequel to Twins) in the next couple of weeks.

We believe Arnold will still be involved in Expendables 3 and he'll probably be filming around September shortly after production begins in August. But what happened to The Legend of Conan? The barbarian script is in progress but apparently T5's script is further along. Also, as much as we all want to see Schwarzenegger in a new Conan more, perhaps it's a smarter move to first release T5, which will prove to Universal (Conan's distributors), that The Oak is still a huge box office draw. Perhaps the more T5 makes in the worldwide box office, the bigger the budget and better Conan film.

Our Australian correspondents for TheArnoldFans, Dan Deltondo and Andrew Hedgman will try to get some more comments from Schwarzenegger over the next couple of days so stick around for more Arnold news!

Now we have other Terminator news from TheWrap.com and Examiner.com. Paramount Pictures is in negotiations to acquire distribution rights to the next Terminator movie that is being produced by Megan Ellison's Annapurna Pictures and David Ellison's Skydance Productions, an individual with knowledge of the project has told TheWrap.

But in bigger news rumor comes word from WWE Examine that one version of the T5 script is being produced specifically for The Rock! According to the scenario outlined, T5 may be a prequel set in the days of Sarah Connor's parents, marking the first time terminators have been sent back in time to kill a character that existed before both John and Sarah Connor. Schwarzenegger may not play the role of a machine in the next film, but a potentially heroic human figure in or close to the Connor family. One theory is that Schwarzenegger's remarkable ability to protect the Connor family in the 1940s or 1950s with antiquated weaponry by today's standards ultimately inspired the machines to develop a terminator in his likeness that was eventually sent to 1984 when Sarah Connor was first targeted for termination.

We at TheArnoldFans are happy to hear that the writers are not doing a story of present day times. Perhaps if this is in the '40s, The Connor parents will be heavily involved in WWII and are fighting their own war with the machines who are the ones really responsible for developing the A-bomb? Who know's what will happen but an all new time period with occasional future war flashbacks sounds and with Arnold as a human is fresh enough to bring back fans who've been turned off by the past films of the Terminator franchise. Maybe we can go back in time to tear up the Terminator Salvation script?

And if Twins 2 comes before Conan...TO HELL WITH YOU, CROM!

Starting Wednesday, Arnold Schwarzenegger will be in Melbourne for the 21st Century Seminar at the Derrimut Gym, then move onto Sydney and finally Melbourne for The 21st Century Financial Education Summit. Escape Plan Movie Poster Hits + a Sabotage Update!

For the first time ever, the two biggest names in action share a spotlight on the same movie poster. After decades of feuds and friendship, a project finally came alone where they'd fight side-by-side and come October 18th, we'll all be breaking into theaters watching these heroes try to break out. Stallone and Schwarzenegger's Escape Plan finally has a theatrical poster! What do you think of it? Are you pumped? Let us know in the comment section below!

Also, we got word that there will be at least one other poster down the road and it will most likely debut at Comic Con in July. No word yet if Arnold and Sly will again return to San Diego for the biggest pop culture convention in the world. TAFs will be there ready to interview the talent should Summit Entertainment have a presentation and panel.

We've got another cool Arnold poster to show you; this one is for Sabotage (previously TEN). We are so excited that we'll see Arnold is his first realistic action movie. Unlike all of his other films, with one-liners and over-the-top action, director David Ayer promises to show us an all new reinvented gritty Austrian Oak! Prepare for a no-nonsence, brutal Arnold! Is Arnold's Involvement in EX3 to Blame for Escape Plan's Oct Release?

It's a tricky thing to pick a release date for a film. Not only does the studio have to consider the competition of other films released that same weekend but the star's schedules also play a significant factor. Escape Plan has been finished for months and test screenings have been very positive; so what's the hold up? This Arnold / Sly action film was originally slated for late September and then later was moved forward to Sept 13th only to now be pushed back to October 18th!
Lionsgate announced today not only the new date for Escape Plan but also the U.S. theatrical release date for Expendables 3: August 15, 2014! Stallone, Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Nicolas Cage and Milla Jovovich (in advanced negotiations) are all ready for action.

Considering EX3 is set to start filming in August and since we all know Arnold will be involved in some way, it's very likely that Schwarzenegger's three or four weeks of shooting for this film will be in September, which is WHY Escape Plan can't come out then. With The Oak and Sly in full Sept. production in some exotic film location, there's no way they could properly promote the prison movie. Arnold insists on traveling the world to sell a good movie and to pump up international crowds. He normally takes a full month off to travel and promote and this can't be done in September if Sly wants him badly to be in The Expendables 3.

Before, Escape Plan's only theatrical competition was Machete 2 (the sequel to a bomb of a bad action movie). It's new release date of October 18th will be a harder box office battle as it will face off with Carrie, Don Jon and Seventh Son. Originally we were angered by the October film release date but it all makes sense now. I'm sure ANY DAY now we'll get that glorious tweet from @schwarzenegger saying he'll be back to be a part of EX3. Get ready!

Exclusive: Jeff Dawn Shares Never-Before-Seen Terminator Photos!

Recently, when I reconnected with my Academy Award-wining friend, Jeff Dawn (make-up artist of the Schwarzenegger Terminator trilogy), I was in for a real treat when he told me he had a big collection of never-before-seen Terminator photos to show me. Being a big fan of TheArnoldFans, Jeff not only shared some great stories and details of these photos but he's letting me post these gems for the fans to see! Although we might have seen one or two of these in the past, most of these are being shared with Terminator fans for the very first time! They're taken by Jeff and Arnold's hairstylist from T1.

I spoke with Jeff over the phone while he was in LA taking a break from working on his Hawaii-based series, Hawaii 5.0. His comments are attached to several images below. So come with me now if you want to live through these stories recalled by Jeff Dawn and feast your eyes on some Terminator bliss!

Jeff Dawn: If you look top center, there's a woman who's bald on top and that's just how she was. I link she had some disease. The pulled some people who were missing body parts and people who were not your A-list extras. Below her there is a guy holding a neon light that's turned on. That is Kelly Edwards who was Kyle Reese's stand in and photo double. He's decked out there as Kyle.

Jeff Dawn: Franco only worked one day on this. It's funny because to this day, if you talk to him...like if I pump into him on a set or if Arnold brings him over, he'll still say, 'oh, that dirt! There was so much dirt, I hated that!' So you can see on his face right there, that he's not happy and he's about to get sprits. He's not happy and you can just see the look on his face. He had this big gun. It was a gas-operated weapon. It was almost like a flame-thrower that would do it in repetition. It had to have a gas feed to it and it had to have an ignitor on it so you had an actual flame pop out of it. It worked at the time but now-a-days, it's so barbaric. It was incredibly heavy but Franco is not exactly a week guy.

Jeff Dawn: That's the fake hydraulic arm and that's such an amazing shot that James Cameron came up with. Because it was such a cumbersome hydraulic mechanism, it had to be picked up by a forklift. So there's a forklift right behind him. The car couldn't be moving so they took fake brick, a big wall and drove it by on a truck in the background. So for that slow-motion shot, when he's plunging his hand through the window (with his REAL arm tucked up behind him), they have the truck going by so it looked like the car was backing up. That's typical James Cameron...just thinking up that stuff so fast. He did it in one take.

Jeff Dawn: That's our make-up trailer. Peter Kent is to our left, a wardrobe person is next to him. Sitting down in the back, that's Lisa, Gale's assistant. Above her was a stand-in. Then we have Michael Biehn, a wardrobe person over his shoulder, a wardrobe designer below Biehn, then there's Linda, and Kelly Edwards, Biehn's stand-in and then sitting down on the right, that's our medic.

Jeff Dawn: Arnold is there with a cigar in his mouth. Peter Kent is in the photo but he's hard to see. He's got a while shirt in the back and you just make out his shoulders. Over Peter's left shoulder (our right) is myself. That's me back there. Stan Winston was not here this day. Of corse we see James Cameron there. Just to his left, a woman with glasses and a cap, that's Betsy Magruder, our first-assistant director. We have Kelly Edwards, the stand-in for Michael Biehn. He's at Jim's left (our right) wearing sunglasses and sitting looking up at Jim. The guy to his left (our right) with a porn-star mustache, that's Greg Robbins, who was also a stand in. In front of Greg, with her head down was Lisa (camera in her hand), Gale Anne Hurd's assistant. Linda is looking at her, she was our medic. Of course we have Gale right there.

Jeff Dawn: At the time, I was probably 220 pounds and I was really into weight lifting. And of course Arnold was my idol! There was never anybody that I looked up to in my life except for Arnold. So for me to get a phone call one day from Gale Anne Hurd (I believe), and say, 'can you come up to my house on Mulholland Drive and meet James Cameron, who's the writer and director of this film The Terminator. We'd like to meet you.' I remember the first time I heard about it, I didn't know who was in it. Then I picked up a Drama Log (a weekly or monthly paper) and I looked it up and I was like, 'Oh my God, Arnold Schwarzenegger!' I was blown away. Here's my idol.
