True Lies Reunion: Jamie Lee Curtis Honored!

October just doesn’t feel right without Michael Myers and the Halloween movies. Fear not because Laurie Strodes is back one more time in the movie Halloween Ends, now in theaters. Jamie Lee Curtis put in writing that this will be the last Halloween movie she will ever make so horror fans are pumped to see the final film with Curtis. Considering this film is a big deal Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with Melanie Griffith, supported their friend to honor Jamie Lee Curtis for her hand and footprint ceremony at the famous TCL Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, along with Melanie Griffith, supported their friend to honor Jamie Lee Curtis for her hand and footprint ceremony at the famous TCL Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Entertainment Tonight (ET) Interviewed Jamie Lee Curtis at the ceremony.

ET: Arnold was a surprise for us and we didn’t know he was going to be here and I am a True Lies Fan. What type of memories did that bring back?

Jamie Lee: Well it made me want to do another one with him. I walked up to him and I was like dude why aren’t we doing another movie? I’m gonna call Jim today.

ET: You couldn’t watch True Lies for years. You could not get a copy of it and its finally on Hulu.

Arnold also gave a heartwarming speech at the ceremony.

Arnold: Hello everybody, are you all having a good time? Well, Melanie did a great job at the speech. It was actually my speech but I let her read it. It's okay. No, actually, the reason why I’m here today is because Jamie Lee called me yesterday and she said to me, Arnold, I’m so proud of you. You’re fighting for democracy and I also know that you believe in free speech. And I said. 'of course I do.' She said ‘ good, you’re going to give one tomorrow morning at the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre' so that’s why I’m here today. But anyway, the bottom line is I’m here because I'm a good friend of Jamie Lee Curtis and I had the pleasure of working with her in True Lies. And she was the most extraordinary actress that I’ve ever worked with. I mean, this is a serious, serious player that can kick some serious ass. And she has fantastic timing with comedy, good dramatic acting. I mean, just look at her record. There’s a lot of stars in Hollywood that maybe have one hit or two hits. This woman has hits for more than four decades. Think about that, for more than four decades one hit after the next and it doesn’t matter what genre it is - if it is comedy, if it is a love story, if it's an action movie or whatever it is, she can do it. And I've seen that first hand and so this is why I am so happy that we are here today and that she is going to get immortalized with her foot print and with the hand prints here.

But there is always one thing that really pisses me off and that is when they say that she was a supporting actress in the movie True Lies because she was not supporting. She was the female lead. The star. She was starring with me and she had above the title credit. So she was not a support actress. So that always pisses me off and I hope you understand that because I know the value that she has. To be here today with all of you, I have to say that this is unbelievable memories because I got the footprint and the handprint here at Graumans Chinese Theatre in 1994 for True Lies. When True Lies came out, I was right here. And I was telling them here at the Graumans Chinese Theatre, I said, 'let’s just do a two for one. Give it to Jamie Lee Curtis too, the hand and foot print.' But they wouldn’t listen to me then. This is now almost 30 years ago but now we are here in finally recognizing the fact that she is extraordinary one of the best of the best actresses so you deserve that to be here today.

Also, I just want to mention that when I came here to this country in 1968, one of the first things that the bodybuilding friends of mine did was bring me down to the Graumans Chinese Theatre and I remember I put my foot into the foot of John Wayne. He didn’t have handprints. He has a fist print because, you know, he was a ballsy guy. So, of course, he punches it so he had a foot and fist print in there. I remember taking photographs with my friends and dreaming that one day I can also be an actor and the leading man like John Wayne. So this is what those things do that you see around here. It’s not only a great photo op but it gives us great inspiration so I know with Jamie Lee getting today the footprint and the handprint, there will be millions and millions of people coming by here and they will get inspired that they too can make their dreams become a reality...so thank you very much, Jamie Lee, for being such a great, great inspiration to all of us. Thank you very much, you deserve it. Thank You.

Will there be a True Lies sequel? We would love it if that were to happen but we think Cameron will most likely say no. However, The Netflix spy thriller, FUBAR, just wrapped recently and we believe Arnold will be pulling in Tom Arnold and Curtis into the cast over time. FUBAR will certainly be an exciting tribute to True Lies and we can’t wait to see Arnold and Curtis on screen together again.

Congratulations to Jamie Lee Curtis from TheArnoldFans
