Schwarzenegger & Sons Unveil the Official 38th Governor Portrait!

TheArnoldFans couldn't have been happier with the seat we were given to witness the unveiling of Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger's official portrait on Monday the 8th! Sitting right behind Franco Columbu and a couple rows behind Schwarzenegger and sons, I awaited this man of the hour to address this largest-ever-gathering for a Governor painting reveal.

Arnold brought his family and a few closest to him including Franco Columbu, Sheryl Main, Heather Milligan, Dieter Rauter, Patrick and Christopher Schwarzenegger. The room was also packed with his past administration from his Governator days as well as current politicians. Our Sacramento Governor, Edmund G. Brown Jr., introduced Schwarzenegger.

Arnold approached the podium with a standing ovation from multiple tiers from within the Rotunda of the State Capitol Building. Here, he gave a solid speech, reminiscing his rise to Governor, best days in office and sadness that this era is over. Schwarzenegger was pumped  to be back and to at last unveil his portrait by acclaimed artist Gottfried Helnwein, one of the greatest realist painters of our time.

Arnold joked about thinking he'd one day only receive a sculpture at Muscle Beach but didn't think he'd have something presented to him as great as this painting. With the help of his boys in attendance, they lifted the veil to display a masterpiece!

"I am grateful not only to my staff, but also to my family and to the people of California who entrusted me with the important responsibility of leading our great state."

While the applause continued on and flashes bombarded the 38th Governor of California, the Austrian Oak took this time to pose with former staffer and Special Olympian John Masterson, his loved ones, and other colleagues.

Arnold asked his sons to pose next to him first. Heather was looking beautiful as always. Schwarzenegger asked her to pose with him followed by a photo opportunity with Franco Columbu. Arnold thanked everyone for coming and helping him celebrate this chapter of his life. Before the day was over, I too posed with Arnold!
